The notion of creating an image or a concept from scratch seems a bit unrealistic since we are the result of a set of activities and cultural and social interactions. One that seems to be an individual process of imagination is actually a system that results from the influence of what surrounds us in particular the work of other artists whether or not image creators. We drank from multiple sources when building our imagination. As in the scientific process also in building an image we only have to benefit from the work already done which is shuffled in our brain and where we add just our personal brand.
In a global society where information circulates in an increasingly democratic way these influences at the level of image construction lead, on the one hand that any one of us is a potential producer of images and on the other hand, these images are each increasingly repetitive leading to a collectivization of the imaginary. To escape to these influences is an almost impossible task which can be mitigated if we do not try to just do image reproduction but if instead we feed our imagination with a set of personal representations of reality so that we can print our creations with an individual character.
When we speak of imagery in photography we referred us to an interaction between a set of real images and a series of unrealistic images that mix and give rise to an impression of the artist about a concept or a vision of reality.
